With over 100 Cineflex V14 gimbals operating globally, the standards of aerial filming have been brought to a new level. Aeroptics aims higher!

UNIQUE FEATURES ON THE AEROPTICS LTD CINEFLEX CAMERA SYSTEMS

HIGH SPEC LENS

The Fujinon lens in Aeroptics camera underwent extensive testing before being fitted to the gimbal. The picture quality was checked pixel by pixel as different combinations of the same model lens and CCD blocks were trialled.

POLARISING FILTER

The Aeroptics gimbal delivers an enhanced image using a remote-controlled circular polarising filter. This has produced stunning results over water and in hazy conditions. Aerial filming often involves shooting very long distances and haze can impair the final image. When viewed alongside footage shot without the polariser, the colours and clarity of the polarised footage jump off the screen. The remote-operated polarising filter was designed and built by Peter Thompson and remains the only gimbal in the world with this capability.

GRADUATED FILTERS

The use of graduated filters expand the effective dynamic range of the camera.

SHIPPING WEIGHTS

Customised components and shipping cases have successfully halved the delivered shipping weight(pdf). All pieces can be transported as excess luggage on commercial airlines flights.

GPS, IMU & GIMBAL POSITIONAL DATA RECORDING

This technology delivers an automated and seamless integration between camera and computer images.

ENHANCED CAMERA FUNCTIONALITY

The Aeroptics’ camera has customised camera-operating firmware from Sony. Aeroptics identified improvements in the Sony camera operating system to allow to the camera to perform in the air the same way it does on the ground.

CAMERA OPERATOR’S COLOUR HD VIEWFINDER

This option is a full resolution HD Operator's monitor with all the camera menu functionality and simplicity. It is the only practical option for real-time slow motion monitoring.

PROVEN COLD TEMPERATURE FOG-FREE OPERATION

Humid air, cold temperature & high altitude can make internal and external condensation of the lens elements inevitable. Aeroptics has a solution which eliminates this concern from aerial filming operations.

CAMERA MOUNTS

Aeroptics has mounts for the wide variety of helicopter, aircraft and vehicle types.

The Queenstown based 4wd filming vehicle features a mount that allows the camera to retract inside the vehicle for ferry trips or for shooting gyro-stabilised 'through the windscreen' shots.
